“High Hopes: A Celebration of Sammy Cahn and his Songs” with Roger Lee Hall and friends will be presented at The Bedford Lyceum on Sunday, November 10, at 9:00-10:50 a.m. The Lyceum meets most Sundays in Room 202 at First Parish on the Common. The program is free of charge and the public is invited. The building is totally accessible.

This year marks the centennial year of the birth of one of America’s best-loved song lyricists, Sammy Cahn. You will hear the witty Sammy himself from a recorded interview on Boston radio and some of his best know songs will be performed LIVE during the lyceum, plus some from a new American Classics CD titled, “It’s Magic – A One Hundredth birthday Celebration of Sammy Cahn.” Roger is Director of the American Music Recordings Archive, a composer of all types of music, and a music preservationist who has produced more than 40 CDs and DVDs.

Cahn’s lyrics are too many to list, but include songs such as “High Hopes”, “Three Coins in the Fountain”, “All the Way”, “Call Me Irresponsible”, It’s Been a Long Long Time”, “It’s Magic”, “Time After Time”, “The Second Time Around”, and “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow”.
