The first session of Bedford Center for the Arts’ free craft program for kids and their supervising adults took place on the last day of school in June, and the second is scheduled from 3 to 6 pm on Friday, July 18, in the BCA Space on the ground floor of Old Town Hall, 16 South Road.

Attendees in June made puppets, and birdhouse making and painting is scheduled for the upcoming July event.

Organizer Samantha Christen, granddaughter of BCA founder Jerry Christen reports “There are fifteen or so little wooden birdhouses to be decorated and we’ll also put out supplies for children to construct their own birdhouses.”

The August project will be pinwheel construction. While it’s a simple project,  “The transformation of a flat piece of paper into something 3D that moves can be mesmerizing for little ones,” noted Christen, “so I hope the project doesn’t get overlooked.”
