Bedford’s Buccaneers will take the field against the Vineyarders of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 5 to kick off Bedford High School’s second football season on Sabourin Field’s artificial turf.

Under the leadership of Head Football Coach Jack Belcher, the team has practiced in Bedford and also at football camp in order to be ready for the game at the end of the first week of school.

Bedford’s season continues with one more home game against Canton on September 12. The Bucs will play away games through the end of the regular season, including games at Concord Carlisle, September 26 at 7 pm; Weston on October 2 at 7 pm; Wayland on October 17 at 7 pm, and at Boston Latin on October 24 at 6:30 pm.

The traditional Thanksgiving morning face-off against Concord Carlisle will take place in Bedford.

Post-season play will begin in early November, in accordance with a two-year pilot program that began last year in order to determine a true state champion. Playoff alignment will no longer be determined by placement in the league, and the number of Super Bowl playoff games was reduced.
