Submitted by Bedford Recycling Coordinator Gretchen Carey

From 9 am to noon on Saturday, September 27, the Department of Public Works will hold a Recycling Drop-Off Drop-off Day sponsored by Republic Services that is free to Bedford residents. There will be separate stations for Paper Shredding, Electronic Waste, and Styrofoam collection.

Paper Shredding by Doc Shredding

Bring all of your outdated personal and confidential documents to the DPW for shredding. Each resident will get a guaranteed certificate of destruction, and watch their paper get loaded into the truck. At the end of the day the loaded truck goes back to the full security Doc Shredding facility, where the paper is then shredded with energy created from solar power and reclaimed fuel oil.

All paper shredded from the event will be recycled. Any resident with very large quantities of boxes may experience a delay in service. Staples, paper clips and small binder clips can be mixed in with paper. Metal hanging folders should be removed. This is a proven means to help prevent identity theft and ensure your privacy.

  • There will be a 4 box limit per customer.
  • For more information, please call 781-275-7605.
