All of Bedford’s schools recently explored the world of coding as part of the Coding Hour initiative begun by Code.org – www.code.org and supported by Donna Clements, Director of Technology and Library Media.

Code.org believes that every student in the country should have the opportunity to learn computer science, and more than 1.7 million people have visited their website to agree. In addition to the activities displayed on Code.org’s website, some classes at Lane School used Light Bot, www.lightbot.com,  an iPad app in use at the school’s computer lab.

Lane School Principal Rob Ackerman reported, “I was amazed how well the students were doing. Not only were they having fun, but they were fully engaged AND learning! If ever there was time to say “Girl Power!” this was it.”
