What would have been a soggy mess because of heavy rains predicted for last Christmas Eve will become a glowing New Year’s Eve delight later today.

The Bedford Minuteman Company’s display of the distinctive lights will glow as dusk descends, to cheer commuters as well as celebrants heading to First Night in Boston or local celebrations with family and friends.

Luminaria will outline streets in Bedford’s Historic District, along Great Road and part of Springs Road.  And the Company hopes that everyone who supported their scholarship fund by purchasing luminaria kits from Chip-In Farm will add their lights to the display, extending it through the town.

Once lit, the luminaria typically glow for nearly 12 hours, providing a beautiful ending for 2014, until First Parish’s historic bell rings in the New Year at midnight.

Happy 2015!
