Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno yesterday attended the graduation ceremony for the 35th MBTA Transit Police Municipal Police Academy class. Incoming Bedford Police Officers Jason Kennedy and Timothy Pike graduated at the 11 a.m. ceremony, after a 27-week intensive academy program hosted by the Transit Police.

“I am very proud to welcome Officer Kennedy and Officer Pike to the department,” Chief Bongiorno said. “They are Bedford natives, and they have returned home to serve their community. This was a very competitive process, and I have extremely high hopes and expectations for both of them.”

The two officers will now be paired with a field training officer for several months of on-the-job training.

Both are Bedford High School graduates. Pike is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, and Kennedy is a veteran of the United States Navy.
