On Saturday, December 5, from 9:00am to 2:00pm, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold its annual Advent Fair.

The Fair features gifts, crafts, food, and holiday cheer for all ages, with all proceeds benefitting the work and ministries of the church.

  • Gift baskets: Some of the most popular items at the Fair are our gift baskets. Our basket team works twice a week for months creating beautiful baskets for every occasion and budget—from elaborate hostess gifts featuring food and wine, to pretty mugs just right for teachers, babysitters, and other professionals. Volunteers are happy to help store baskets while you shop and carry them to your car when you’re done.
  • Crafts: Handmade crafts, from ornaments to jewelry to home décor and everything in between, are another standout at the Advent Fair. Decorate your own home, or buy crafts as stocking stuffers or Secret Santa gifts. This year the Fair will once again feature a live glassblowing demonstration by parishioner and professional glassblower Matthew McDonald, who will be creating ornaments and other glass items on site.
  • Raffle for an Apple Watch: This year’s raffle item is an Apple Watch, just right for the techie on your holiday shopping list. Tickets are only $10 each, or $25 for three, so it’s worth taking a chance on this high-value item.
  • Silent Auction: The Fair also features a Silent Auction, where visitors can bid on sports and theatre tickets, one-of-a-kind art and tableware, and services from local professionals.
  • Country Kitchen and Cookie Walk: For those who are looking for festive food gifts—or just yummy things to eat—the Fair features a Cookie Walk, with homemade cookies by the pound, and a Country Kitchen featuring breads, jams, marinara sauce, cheese by the pound, baked beans, and local honey.
  • Outreach and Mission Gifts: This year’s Outreach table features sculpture and coffee from Haiti, greeting cards and ornaments from Heifer International, and gold lapel pins shaped like hammers to support Appalachia Service Project. St. Paul’s is planning two mission trips in 2016: a spring trip to Haiti for medical and educational service to the Faculte des Sciences Infirmieres de Leogane (FSIL), a nursing school; and a summer trip for high school students to rural Virginia to perform home repair and construction with Appalachia Service Project.
  • Additional attractions: The Advent Fair also features vintage jewelry, white elephants, children’s activities, and a snack bar serving breakfast and lunch.

St. Paul’s is a fully-accessible church located at 100 Pine Hill Road in Bedford, MA. For more information, please call the church office Tuesday through Friday, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, at 781-275-8262, or visit www.stpaulsbedford.org.
