Students in Ms. Banks’ art classes have been busy creating fish paintings, which are now on display in the hallways at the John Glenn Middle School. This article contains a small sample of paintings from those talented young artists.

The fish were the ‘vehicle’ for the students to learn about some of the basic elements and principles of design, such as line, color, texture, and pattern,” said Ms. Banks. “We discussed color theory such as warm and cool colors, color contrast as well as their own personal preferences. Using paints to show texture and blending was also a big part of each work,” she added.

“The students loved the project, and while we see the beautiful results, they got a lesson in design.”
