In December 2015, Janet Werth, president of Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation (CSF), and Silvester Pomponi, chairman of the CSF Phone-a-thon Committee, presented a plaque to Al Grasso, president and chief executive officer of The MITRE Corporation, in appreciation for 20 years of MITRE support to the CSF phone-a-thon.
MITRE has been making its Bedford facility available to CSF for their annual Dollars for Scholars fund raising event since 1985. During that time, Bedford High School student volunteers phoning Bedford residents have raised over $850,000 for scholarships to assist graduating seniors in the Bedford/Hanscom community.
The 2016 Phone-a-thon will be held on March 5 & 6.
