Short Takes from the Selectmen’s February 1 Meeting

SelectmenIn their February 1 meeting, the Selectmen approved an election warrant, voted to support the Town Manager’s recommendation and refinance several town bonds; they also appointed a member to the Energy Task Force.

Elections

The Selectmen approved the Warrant for the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 1. Click here to view the Presidential Primary ballots. Voting will take place for all four precincts at John Glenn Middle School from 7am until 8pm.

The Selectmen also signed the Warrant for the Annual Town Election on Saturday, March 12.Voting will take place at John Glenn Middle School from 8am until 6pm. Click here to learn more about the candidates for town offices.

Budget

The Selectmen voted to support the Town Manager’s recommendations to fund operating budgets of the Selectmen’s departments for a total of $42,766,164. This amount is a 4 percent increase over the FY16 budget.

Bonding

The Selectmen voted to refinance Town of Bedford bonds issued between April 1, 2007 and July 15, 2007. The re-financing will “generate an excess of $1,000,000 in debt service savings….”

Appointment

Christine Rabinowitz was appointed to the Bedford Energy Task Force.
