If a Bedford High School student calls you tomorrow, the Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation hopes you will be generous and pledge funds for scholarships that will be awarded to graduating seniors later this year.
Phon-a-thon organizers and 153 student volunteers were busy today, filling a conference room and lobby at MITRE Corp. They were gathered to raise funds for Bedford’s Citizen Scholarship Foundation. At its awards banquet on May 25, awards will be given to graduating seniors.
The volunteers shown in these courtesy images by Val Franks include Annie Cowen, 2018; Maddie Siegal, 2019; Bernice Lai, 2019; Lucy Santiago, 2019; Avery Kaplan, 2016; Alyssa Smith, 2016; Monet Lyons, 2016; Avi Miller, 2016; Lauren Venuti, 2018; and Mary Manning, 2017. Bedford High School callers reached nearly every home in Bedford, thanks to the meticulously edited lists prepared annually by Alma Pomponi, last year’s Citizen of the Year, and her husband Sal. Once the student phone calls are made, a team of volunteers creates follow-up mailings that will be delivered in the coming week.
