Town Hall Elevator Out of Service for 7 to 8 Weeks

The elevator at Bedford Town Hall on Mudge Way is being taken out of service for a complete rehab in a project that is expected to last from 7 to 8 weeks.

Until the close of business on Wednesday, May 11 the elevator at Town Hall will not be accessible to anyone.

During this time, any person with physical challenges visiting Town Hall to pay bills at Finance, a sign near the elevator will direct them to seek help at either the Code Enforcement or Town Clerk office on the first floor. Either department will contact Finance and ask for someone to come down to answer questions or help process transactions.

Starting on Thursday May 12, the elevator may be available during normal business hours, and in extreme cases at other times for people with physical challenges. Using a hand-held controller, the contractor will accompany the person in the elevator.

Please be prepared to use the stairs or ask for help in call for Finance to come to the first floor.
