Short Takes from the September 19 Selectmen’s Meeting

selectmenAt their meeting on September 19, the Selectmen:

Issued a License to JJ Limo Service for the Conduct of Passengers, in conformance with local regulations.  The vehicle is located at 25 Neillian St.

Agreed to a contract with Weston & Sampson, CMR, Inc. to upgrade and replace old equipment on the town water and sewer systems to achieve improved performance, energy and cost savings.   The contract sum is $89,650 and comes from a previously approved capital article.

Voted to authorize the Bedford School Superintendent to submit to the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) Statement(s) of Interest Forms for both Davis Elementary School and John Glenn Middle School to address elimination of existing overcrowding, and address overcrowding from expected increased enrollments and replacement or additions to provide for a full range of programs.

Adopted a Town of Bedford Flag Lowering Policy that is consistent with the current practice.

Reviewed the current draft of the Warrant for the Special Town Meeting on November 9.
