To kick off this new school year, our first prize-winning opportunity will be the JGMS Summer Box Tops Contest. Students must hand in their Box Tops in an envelope or baggie with their first and last name clearly written, and placed in their advisory collection container. Staff may enter by doing the same or placing in Mrs. Ferri’s mailbox in the main office. THIS CONTEST ENDS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30! Prizes and gift cards will be awarded to top earners and it will also give your advisory a step ahead in the yearlong advisory contest.
Mustaches and goofy glasses but no hall passes were passed out as students from John Glenn Middle School celebrated another successful year of collecting Box Tops for Education in support of the Middle School Parents Association.
Over $1,800 was raised by students, staff, and the community to support this fundraiser that is celebrating its 20th Birthday this year.
Box Tops are coupons that can be found on product packaging on hundreds of items including Kleenex tissue boxes, Scott toilet paper wrapping, Boise paper, Land O’Lakes products, and General Mills cereals, to name a few.

Box Tops Bonus coupons can be found on some products for limited times, at Shaw’s and their related stores upon checkout, and there is now a Box Tops App to download to earn ever more Box Tops!
Currently, the biggest way to earn free, easy Box Tops is to enter the Market Basket eBox Tops Sweepstakes in which JGMS can win 5,000 box tops! You can pick up an entry form at any Market Basket near the customer service desk or e mail Jenn Puhle, Bedford Box Tops Coordinator, at [email protected] to be entered without leaving the comforts of home! The Market Basket Sweepstakes ends October 1, so don’t delay in entering!
The top 3 advisories at JGMS won parties at the end of last school year, but we have some changes for this school year to celebrate Box Tops 20th Birthday, so be sure to keep checking in with the Bedford Citizen and the MSPA newsletters as to what exciting things will be in store for this year. We want to give back to YOU for all that you have given to US! Moneys raised from the BTFE program go right back to the students by supporting MSPA’s funding of all student agendas, the Homework Club, scholarships for field trips, and many enrichment activities and programs.
