The Environmental League of Massachusetts Action Fund today endorsed Representative Kenneth Gordon for State Representative in the 21st Middlesex District, a credit to his commitment to environmental issues and his passion for public service. With critical issues of energy policy and environmental protection to be addressed in the next legislative session, the leadership of the ELM Action Fund believes it is important to return environmental champions like Representative Gordon to the State House.
“We are proud to endorse Representative Gordon because of his strong commitment to addressing environmental issues both in his district and across the Commonwealth,” said Joe O’Brien, ELM Action Fund Political Director. “He understands the importance of our state investing in clean energy, sustainable transportation and parks to help address climate change, create jobs, and build healthier communities.”
Representative Gordon has been an environmental champion and has helped pass a landmark energy bill that will significantly increase our state’s generation of renewable energy and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. He has also supported efforts to prevent Massachusetts ratepayers from footing the bill for unneeded gas pipeline infrastructure.
“I am proud to play a part in protecting the environment and am honored to receive the endorsement of the Environmental League of Massachusetts,” stated Representative Gordon. “Last session I cosponsored the energy bill that will increase our use of wind and hydropower energy and I believe this to be an important step in making Massachusetts first in environmental protection and clean energy.”
Representative Gordon was first elected to the Legislature in 2012 and in his tenure has been a leader on environmental issues. Representative Gordon recently received a score of 99% on ELM Action Fund’s 2015-2016 Legislative Scorecard and he is a member of the House Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change.
