John Sterman, the Jay W. Forrester Professor of Management and faculty director at the MIT Sloan School of Management, will offer a Sunday service, From climate change to personal and political change: Making a difference on global warming at 10 am on Sunday, January 29 in the sanctuary of First Parish, Unitarian Universalist, the historic meeting house on Bedford Common.
Speaking about the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, Sterman said, “Science is no longer the bottleneck. The challenge is political and social.”
Sterman was among the designers of the engaging and transformative Climate Interactive game deployed at First Parish and at Bedford High School last winter. The game’s climate scoreboard helped to keep negotiators focused during the Paris climate summit in 2015.
Friends of Sterman’s, Bedford residents Ginny and Dave Packer say, “John is devoting all of his research to climate change; he is a powerhouse…and a great speaker.”
First Parish, Unitarian Universalist is located at 75 The Great Road, on Bedford Common. The building is fully accessible using the Elm Street entrance, and all are welcome. For additional information, call 781-275-7994 or visit www.uubedford.org.
