Bedford TV proudly awarded Jason Gould the honor of Volunteer of the Month for January, 2017. Jason takes his enthusiasm and knowledge of the weather and translates it into a report for the Bedford TV News each week.
While work often keeps Jason from making an appearance in the studio on Monday nights, he always sends a new script over with accurate forecasts and fun facts and stories about the weather for BHS junior Maria Wilson to deliver. His forecasts are never just simple rundowns of what the high and low temperatures will be, he explains the processes that shape our weather in clear, easily understood terms and provides context to how the weather outlook compares to what is typically expected.
On the occasion that the news shifts off its usual Monday night schedule, usually due to holidays or inclement weather, Jason comes in and delivers his report in person. When in the studio, Jason’s rapport with the cast and crew and his comfort in front of the camera come through clearly to the audience at home. And he always delivers an entertaining and informative account of what to expect when you walk out your door.
Jason is a great example of someone who took a passion and translated it into a valuable service to his community. It was with great pleasure that we presented Jason with a gift card from Bedford TV Community Partner Red Heat Tavern to recognize his exceptional service to the station.
