Three members of the Bedford Center for the Arts Photo Group — Shantal Rich, Bob Bicknell, and Bob Bass — are showing work in Gallery Seven’s new show, “WET,” a juried exhibition assembled by Gallery Seven co-owners Nick Johnson and Kelli Costa.
The exhibition runs from February 21st – April 1st. Artists’ Reception: Saturday, March 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the gallery, 7 Nason Street in Maynard
Shantel Rich’s image, “Before the Fall” received the Best in Show award; it is an archival inkjet print on aluminum. Bob Bass works in black and white and his ethereal seascape entitled “Long Exposure Becalmed” was awarded Honorable Mention. Bob Bicknell’s “Baddacook Morning” is a quiet, meditative piece which has the viewer wondering which way is up.
Thirty-six pieces of artwork were chosen from close to 300 images submitted by artists from across the country. The artwork in this exhibition ranges from representational to the more abstract and portrays the theme of “wet” using a variety of mediums. Artists in the show include: Miranda Aisling, Janet Albert, Bob Bass, Robert C. Bicknell, Bob Bird, Margo Cascella, Kaylee Cataldo-Perry, Jaina Cipriano, Roy DiTosti, Marcia Geier, Amanda Grafe, Sherie Harkins, Lonnie Harvey, John Heymann, Brent Mathison, Yair Melamed, Debi Milligan, Amy Nichols, Gillian Orlinsky, Sidhartha Pani, Irina Parfenova, Mary Power, Luca Riccò, Shantel Rich, Dan Rocha, Janet Schwartz, Sara Slee Brown, Solei, Irene Stapleford, Tom Whelan, and Neil Wilkins.
