More than three dozen entries were submitted for the 7th Annual Peeps® Diorama Contest at the Bedford Free Public Library, to the delight of Teen Services Librarian Pam Aghababian and staff.

Library patrons had one week in which to view the entries and vote for their favorites.

Here are the winners, as announced on March 22.

  • Peeple’s Choice: Peep Grand Prix  (Nicole Ruggeri)
  • First in Class, Family: Jiffy Peep Popcorn (Hayden and Meg McAllister)
  • First in Class, Grades K-5: Jay Peep (Quinn and Oliver Hadden)
  • First in Class, Grades 6-8: Hamilton: An American Peepsical (Maddie McAllister)
  • First in Class, High School/Adult: Trappeep-7 (Ainsley Muir)
  • Bragging Rights (Staff): Peephenge (Pam Aghababian)

Themes for this year’s entries were both timely and topical: “LGBTPeep,” “Star Wars Peeple Celebrate Marriage Equality,” and “Bedford Embraces ALL PEEPS” were examples of current topics that inspired creativity.  And Bedford residents clearly delight in punning, as in: “Home of the Peep-triots,” “Sgt. Peepers Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and “Happy St. Peepricks’s Day.”

The Library is looking forward eagerly to next year’s Peeps Diorama contest.
