Bedford Churches Welcome Residents to Easter Services

Members of the community are welcome at Bedford’s 66th annual interfaith Easter Dawn service along the banks of Fawn Lake, as well as Holy Week and Easter services in each of Bedford’s churches.

Bedford’s Annual Interfaith Easter Dawn Service

The 66th annual Interfaith Easter Dawn Service will take place at 6:30 am on Sunday morning, April 16, on the shores of Fawn Lake. This is a lay-led service, and the entire community is warmly invited. Click here to .learn more or get directions.

First Baptist Church of Bedford

  • Good Friday, April 14 at 6:30 pm:  A service in the sanctuary.
  • Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, April 16 at 8 am: Easter breakfast, in the lower level of the Connections building, 153 Concord Road, adjacent to the church.
  • Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, April 16 at 10 am: Easter worship service in the sanctuary
  • Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, April 16 at 1 pm: The Korean Message Congregation meets for worships First Baptist Church.
  • Wednesday, April 19, starting in the sanctuary at 10 am and going until 1 pm with lunch included: “Rise Up Gathering”- Children’s fun filled kite and flying things event.

First Parish, Unitarian Universalist

  • Good Friday, April 14 at 7 pm: Tenebrae Service, led by our Ministers, Music Director and our Choir; this service is a night of stark beauty in the darkness that will touch upon Tenebrae and Good Friday themes, with special music. The community is welcome for this candle-lit night of readings, music and the rare opportunity to use our church’s Communion Silver, borrowed back from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Communion – always optional – will be shared.
  • Easter Sunday, April 16 at 9 am: “Hallelujah, Anyway!” with Revs. John Gibbons and Megan Lynes; the FP Adult Choir will sing
  • Easter Sunday, April 16 at 11 am: Intergenerational Service at 11 am, with Lisa Rubin, Josh Leach; the FP Youth Choirs

Lutheran Church of the Savior

  • Maundy Thursday, April 13 at 7:00 pm: Service in the sanctuary, with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper
  • Good Friday, April 14 at 7:00 pm, Service in the sanctuary
  • Easter Sunday, April 16, at 8:30 am:  Traditional service
  • Easter Sunday, April 15, at 11:15 am: Contemporary service
  • Lord’s Supper will be celebrated in both services, and an Easter Brunch will be served between the two services.

St Paul’s Episcopal Church

  • Wednesday, April 12 from noon to 8 pm: Stations of the Cross will be set up in the church for individual viewing.
  • Maundy Thursday, April 13 at 7:30 pm: Eucharist with Foot washing. Stripping of the Altar follows the service.
  • Maundy Thursday, April 13 at 9 pm: Overnight Parish Prayer Vigil begins
  • Good Friday, April 14 at 7 am: Overnight Parish Prayer Vigil concludes
  • Good Friday, April 14 at 3 pm: Children’s Good Friday service
  • Good Friday, April 14 at 6 pm: Middle School Youth Pizza and Passion
  • Good Friday, April 14 at 7:30 pm: Good Friday Service with Choir and Sermon.
  • Easter Saturday, April 15 at 7:30 pm:  The Great Vigil of Easter and Holy Baptism (with choir)
  • Easter Sunday, April 16 at 6:30 am: Ecumenical Easter Dawn Prayers at Fawn Lake
  • Easter Sunday, April 16 at 10 am: Festival Easter Eucharist
