Since its inception, the Bedford Culture and Arts Working Group has worked to develop a robust and comprehensive inventory of Bedford’s cultural and historic resources.

Public Spaces

  • Minuteman Commuter Bikeway and Narrow Gauge Rail Trail

  • 19th Century Rufus Porter murals at the Job Lane House Museum and in the Multipurpose Room at Town Hall
  • Hayden Fountain – The Great Road at the corner of Springs/South Roads
  • Sculpture by Madeleine Lord located outside Town Center, funded by the Bedford Cultural Council to commemorate Center School
  • Dance Rhythm by Chaim Gross (1966) Town Campus
  • The Patriot by Bruce Papitto (2000) at Veterans Memorial Park
  • Kopjafak, Transylvanian Monuments  in the First ParishMemorial Garden
  • Horse Trough in the Hartwell Town Forest – moved from its original location near the Bedford House Hotel in the 1940s
