Town Government at Work: Week of July 17, 2017

By Meredith McCulloch

The Selectmen are meeting Monday, July 17 at the Town Hall. A major item on their agenda is the award of a contract to FYG Technology of Quincy, MA for a town-wide communication system to provide broadband-based communications systems, both telephone and the internet, for the town and schools. The library has already made this change. FYG is on the state approved bidding list for this service.

Resident David Goldbaumis requesting permanent access from town land to his property at13 School Way.  The change would allow access to a proposed garage. It would require relocating an existing curb cut to another location. The owner has offered to pay for the change. Click this link to view a measured drawing of the proposed curb cut.

The Selectmen will also review the water and sewer rates for the upcoming year. The recommended rates show a modest increase. In addition, there is a request for a change order for the Town Hall business systems project.
