Pine Hill Crossing’s first open house on Wednesday evening drew a stream of visitors, eager to see the newly renovated units that are now available for lease.
Family groups, seniors, singles, and young couples toured two of the three-bedroom houses. The “model” home (link to kitchen photo and other photos) has been completely refurbished and is in move-in condition. The new kitchen includes refrigerator, granite counter tops, microwave, and washer and dryer. The walls are painted a soft gray. Wood flooring covers the living room, with gray carpet in the bedrooms.

The second unit on view is still a work in progress but will be ready for occupancy in a few weeks. In this home, the bathroom has been expanded, a half-bath added, and central air conditioning has been installed. Other units (not on view yesterday) are currently being renovated and should be ready for lease within a few weeks, according to Fran DeCoste, the project manager.
DeCoste told The Citizen he will have four or five units ready to lease by early fall. Landscapers have been at work, with new plantings around the homes. Special attention has been given to the mature trees on the property.
Meantime, planning is going ahead on Phase II of the project, in which the developer will build 17 new cottage-style homes. Phase II will require rezoning of the 15-acre property. DeCoste said he will appear before the Planning Board on September 12 and if all goes well, he hopes to present a zoning article for a vote of approval at the November Special Town Meeting.
