Liljegren Field: Part 1, Clearing the Woods

Compiled by The Bedford Citizen

Over the past several years, discussions have considered a plan to realign a baseball field behind the Bedford High School and add a multi-sport grass field using land along Liljegren Way. Formerly a pine forest that blocked the sightlines from the school to St. Michael Parish, the trees came down recently and the land is being cleared.

Because a portion of the cleared land was wet, remediation was stipulated. Next week, Liljegren Field: Part 2 will examine Bedford’s new pond that is being built between Veterans Memorial Park and Page Field.
