With the Autumnal Equinox hitting Bedford at 4:02 on Friday afternoon, the weather matched the turn of the season from summer to autumn. However, Saturday — aka Bedford Day —  has a more optimistic forecast, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 80s.

The 23rd annual Danny Oates 5k Road Race & 2.5k Walk
Last-minute registrations take place at the John Glenn Middle School, beginning at 7:30 am on Bedford Day; day-of registration is $30 per participant and $5 for military personnel.

The Bedford Day Parade
The parade steps off from the intersection of Loomis Street and The Great Road at 10:30 am and ends with the reviewing stand, where The Great Road and Mudge Way intersect. The parade will be led by Bedford’s 2017 Citizen of the Year, John Linz!

Road Closures – From the Bedford Police Department
The Great Road (from Great & Loomis to Great Road at North & Concord Roads) will be closed for the parade at 10 AM until approximately 12 PM. Traffic will be detoured around the event during those times. Loomis Street will be closed at 9:30 AM for parade staging. There will be an extension of the overnight parking ban on The Great Road throughout the morning until after the parade ends. Any motor vehicles found parked on The Great Road the morning of September 23, will be cited and subject to tow if we cannot locate the owners. Please plan accordingly.
