A rainout at Concord-Carlisle earlier in the week made Friday’s home game against Lincoln-Sudbury (L-S) the BHS Boys Soccer game the team’s season opener.

L-S started the game with dominating ball control and crisp passing.  Bucs defense was unfazed as they prevented senior goalie Casey Millar from having to block any shots for the first ten minutes. Luck ran out as L-S snuck a shot through, jumping out to a 1-0 lead.

The rest of the first half featured both teams digging in and preventing effective shots on goal.

If he were at the game, my old Coach Sabourin would have been proud to see that as the second half went on, the better-conditioned Bucs started beating L-S to the ball.  Frustration from the LS players was evident as BHS started to get breakaway chances.

For the last five minutes, L-S had to bring their best defensive effort, as Bedford peppered the goal from corner kicks and monster throw-ins.  Bedford could not break through and lost in the end 1-0.
