October Trail Walk in the Dellovo Conservation Area and on Massport Land

September 29, 2017

Submitted by the Bedford Trails Committee

Please join the Bedford Trails Committee for a free Trail Walk in the woods. We will explore the Dellovo Conservation Area, which then leads onto the Massport property. We will view the airport runways and may visit Thoreau’s birthplace.  The walk will last about 2 hours or less.

The group will meet at 9:45 am on Saturday, October 7 in the parking lot behind the Bedford Free Public Library.  Alternatively, you can meet us at the trailhead parking lot on Route 62 (see map), from which we will leave at 10:10 am sharp.

The trailhead parking lot is located on Route 62, next to the Bedford Children’s Center. From Bedford center, it is on the left about 1.8 miles from the split with Route 225 (Willson Park).  From the other direction, it is about three-quarters of a mile from the Bedford Street/Old Bedford Road split, on the right.

The walk will be led by Dan Hurwitz of the Bedford Trails Committee.

The group walks rain, snow, or shine.  In any case, it may be wet in places, and it may be buggy, so dress appropriately.  Please wear comfortable, closed toe, walking shoes.  Children and dogs are welcome.

Please check the Bedford Trails Google Groups page for information on current and future hikes. https://groups.google.com/group/bedfordma-trails If you already have a Google account, click “Join Group to Post”  ~ If you don’t have a Google account, please send an email to [email protected] and you’ll be added to the Group.
