The BEST/PTO would like to announce that there are two parent openings on the Davis School Advisory Council, two parent openings on the Lane School Advisory Council, and one community member opening on the Lane School Advisory Council.
The Advisory Council at each school is comprised of the school principal, two teachers, three parents and up to two community representatives. All members, other than the principals, are elected for two-year terms. The council meets once a month during business hours. Community representatives must live in Bedford and cannot be a parent or guardian of a child in the school.
The council members:
(1) assist the principal in adopting educational goals for the school
(2) identify the educational needs of students attending the school
(3) review the school’s annual budget
(4) formulate a school improvement plan

If you are interested in the position on the Lane School, please submit your name to Susan Andelman, BEST Lane VP, at [email protected] by Friday, September 29.

In the event that more than one person is interested at either school; a ballot vote will be sent home for families to vote on the candidates during the week of October 2.
