Town Government at Work for the Week of October 2, 2017

Town Boards and Committees continue to prepare for the Special Town Meeting scheduled for November 6 by reviewing articles on the warrant and making recommendations.

Multiple meetings take place on Monday, October 2:

  • The Planning Board will continue a hearing on a proposed rezoning on the Pine Hill Crossing (to add a new Section 21, Military Housing Reuse – Cottage Overlay District and to rezone former Coast Guard property on Pine Hill Road, Mickelson Lane and Lewis Road to the new District 8:)
  • The Selectmen will begin their meeting at 7:30 in the Selectmen’s meeting room, but at 8:00 pm they will move to the Multi-purpose room for a hearing on a proposed design for the North Road Intersections at Chelmsford Road and Pine Hill Road. After the hearing, the Selectmen will continue their review of the upcoming warrant articles and vote on recommendations to the Town Meeting in the Selectmen’s meeting room.
  • Prior to the Selectmen’s meeting, there will be a meeting of the Fiscal Planning and Coordinating Committees at 6:30 pm in the second-floor conference room. They will review school building projects and some warrant issues.  The Fiscal Coordinating Committee coordinates across town departments for long-range fiscal planning. (See: https://www.bedfordma.gov/fiscal-planning-coordinating-committee)The Historic Preservation Commission will meet Tuesday, October 3 to hear a demolition delay petition for 130 Old Burlington Road and consider two preservation restrictions.The Capital Expenditures Committee meets on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm, and the Finance Committee and the Cable TV committee both meeting at 7:30 pm on Thursday.[Please note: Although we make every effort to keep The Bedford Citizen calendar current, the Town of Bedford website at www.bedfordma.gov is the official record for all town meetings and agendas.]
