Town offices will be closed Monday, September 4 for the celebration of Labor Day., and trash/recycling pickup will be delayed until Tuesday. And beginning on Tuesday, there is a fairly full slate of Bedford board and committee meetings.

The Selectmen will meet Tuesday, September 5 at 7:30 pm. Two major Selectmen agenda items are a project update on the Pine Hill Crossing Housing Development  (formerly Coast Guard Housing) and consideration of next steps based on the Community Garden Feasibility Study. They will also hear a citizen proposal for a “Kindness Rock Project” in Bedford. See https://thekindnessrocksproject.com. )

On Wednesday, September 6 the Recreation Commission will focus on Springs Brook Park and hear updates on ongoing programs.

Also on Wednesday, the Historic District Commission will consider a demolition request at 36 North Road and construction of a new building for a restaurant.

The Cable Television Committee will meet on Thursday, September 7 at 7:30 pm in the Town Hall second floor conference room.

Looking ahead, next week on Tuesday, September 12 the Planning Board will hold two zoning hearings and consider a request for a special permit.  One zoning change would impact the allowed density at Pine Hill Crossing.  The second involves changes in the nursing care section of the bylaw that would allow Carleton-Willard Village to add approximately 12 additional units.\ At that same meeting where will be a hearing for a special permit for a new hotel at 39 Crosby Drive.
