The Bedford American Legion Auxiliary, along with members of the Bedford Legion Riders, visited the Veterans in Building 7 of the Edith Nourse Rogers VA Hospital and provided some holiday cheer on Monday, December 11, 2017.

The Legion members made appetizers and desserts, brought sparkling cider and gift bags for the 42 men and women staying in Building 7.

The American Legion is a not-for-profit organization.  The Bedford American Legion Family provides activities for the veterans at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veteran’s Hospital on Springs Road in Bedford such as bingo, barbecue lunches, and Mexican-themed lunches held off-site at the Legion.  Events are held for Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, POW/MIA, Veteran’s Day, as well as a Mother’s Day Breakfast, Thanksgiving Dinner for Seniors, and Children’s Christmas Party with Santa. The Bedford Legion also actively charters Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops and provides scholarships to local high school students.  These programs are made possible by community support and Legion members who volunteer their time and effort.
