Bedford girls Indoor Track team beat Wayland 60-38 on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center at Roxbury Community College in Boston.

Multiple teams compete at the same event, but times are only compared head to head between Bedford and Wayland, and Bedford’s team posted several top performances.

New to the indoor track team, senior Belen Ou took 1st place in Long Jump (15’6″), and junior Briannah Pereira captured a 2nd place finish in the 55m hurdles (PR of 10.55) and a 2nd in the 600m (PR of 1:51.78).

In their first indoor meets, freshman Julia Silvestrone won the 1st in High Jump (4’2″); sophomore Madeline Broyard took a 1st in the  2 Mile (13:16.80) and was part of the winning 4x400m relay (4:47.63); and sophomore Gabby Fournier took a 1st in the mile (6:29.160), and was part of the winning 4x400m relay (4:47.63).

The Bedford squad has a lot of depth as the sophomores and freshman are known for their strong runners:

  • Freshman Mina Bostwick took a 1st in the 55m dash (8.15) and a 2nd in long jump (15’3.5″).
  • Sophomore Anna Broyard  took a 1st in 1000m (3:31.17) and was part of the winning 4x400m relay team  (4:47.63)

The indoor track team’s next meet is at 4:30 PM on December 20th at the Reggie Lewis Center.
