Letter to the Editor, December 9, 2017: A Community-Wide Thank You from the Bedford Community Table/Pantry

December 9, 2017

By Peter Grey, President
Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, the numerous volunteers and in particular the clients of the Bedford Community Table/Pantry, I want to thank all who came out on a cold Thanksgiving morning to participate in this year’s Turkey Trot. The 387 participants, both two-legged and four-legged, raised over $12,000 for our organization.

Our thanks to Bedford Florist and Callahan Karate for sponsoring the event and thanks also to the Bedford Police, Fire and Public Works departments for their help.  The event could not succeed without the help of the many students and others who manned the registration desk and stood in the cold in various locations along the walk and running route to direct participants.

This event could not succeed as it has over the last eleven years without the coordination and management of Rich Hamilton who has announced that he is moving on to take up another cause within the town.

Thanks, Richard, and we are sure that whatever you take on will be a success.
