According to the Bedford Police Department’s Twitter feed, an **ALERT** noting a black bear sighting in the area of Curve St. near the Shawsheen River was posted early on Wednesday afternoon.

The Tweet reminded residents to never approach wildlife; to bring in all food sources, including bird feeders; and to keep an eye on pets.

Sightings should be reported to Bedford’s Animal Control Officer at 781-275-1212.

Bears, Before in Bedford

Back in 2014, a bear was seen on Chestnut Lane then captured by a critter cam in the woods off Carlisle Road, and in November 2017, evidence of a bear’s visit was apparent at Chip-In Farm, and at a nearby residence. At Chip-in, a dormant bee hive maintained by Doug Townsend was destroyed.
