Bless our home, our revolving planet earth
Embracing us all, while rotating it’s wide girth
What will become of our global empire
As environmental pollution gets more dire
Why do we abuse for pleasure
Our vulnerable terrestrial treasure
Let’s love and protect this precious earth
Honor and uphold it’s valuable worth
On this Earth Day, what can you envision
As we create our earth ship special mission
Fly it high, fly it bold, fly it frighteningly low
Get moving, on your mark, get set, go
Cruise head first into the wild blue, vibrant air
Fire in your breath, wind in your hair
Do what you can, take control, take action
Maybe protesting hydraulic fracking
Or lie down in trenches, protesting gas pipelines
Possibly getting arrested, making headlines
A life-giving force, long before your birth
Nurture our home, our blessed earth
Inhale love, deep from our planet’s core
Exhale action, even when it’s hard to endure
Celebrate, participate, donate, agitate, green and clean
Welcome Earth Day, April 22, 2018!
