St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 2, at 7:30 pm regarding the annual Easter Dawn Service at Fawn Lake, to plan for 2019 and beyond.

Members of the five churches who rotate leadership for the annual service will meet to confirm community interest in continuing the tradition, share best practices for planning and running the service, and lay out the rota for leadership for the next ten years. Any member of First Church of Christ Congregational, First Parish Unitarian Universalist, St. Paul’s Episcopal, First Baptist, and St. Michael’s Roman Catholic—or any other Christian parish in Bedford who would like to get involved—are cordially invited to attend.

The ecumenical Easter Dawn service began in 1951 under the inspiration and direction of Doris (“Mickey”) and Reed Webber of the First Church of Christ (UCC). For most of its history, the service has relied on lay leadership from participating Bedford congregations. 2019 will mark its 68th occurrence.
