Editor’s Note: May 9 Update ~ https://thebedfordcitizen.org/2018/05/saturdays-stamp-out-hunger-letter-carriers-food-drive-is-on/
Saturday, May 12 is the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive conducted by the National Association of Letter Carriers. There are two ways you can help this year. First, leave non-expired, nonperishable food and/or personal items (no glass containers, please) in or near your mailbox. Your letter carrier brings everything to the Bedford Food Pantry.
What happens when all this stuff reaches the Pantry? We sort and store it, and that’s your second opportunity to help. We’re looking for volunteers between 2:30 and 6:00, at the Pantry, downstairs in Town Center, 12 Mudge Way, Bedford. If you can’t be there the whole time, no problem–an hour or two would be great. We’ll have pizza around 4:30, and will gladly sign high schoolers’ Community Service forms. If you’re available, please visit https://bedfordfoodpantry.org/contact.
