As the committee prepares for the PMC Kids Ride on June 16, we asked children, family members, and riders to share “why they ride.”

Julie Sachs shared the following:

Why we ride….. is for him and his memory and because if he was still alive that is what he would be doing.  Nothing was more important than spending time with his family, staying active (cycling was one of his favorite activities), and raising awareness and money to help fund research for lung cancer.  He wanted to lead by example so it is important for us to follow that.  He wrote, “In many ways, I don’t worry about living tomorrow.  I worry about living today, and making this day count.”

David Sachs lost his battle with lung cancer on August 26, 2017.  His children, Harrison, age 12 and Becca, age 11 will ride for their dad on June 16.  We invite anyone who would like to join them on ‘Team Dave’ at the Bedford PMC Kids Ride to register at https://www.kids.pmc.org/bedford.aspx.
