The Selectmen and Planning Board each have interesting agendas in the coming week.
Monday’s Selectmen’s meeting will include the following:
- Board of Assessors will present a property tax deferral option for seniors who meet certain criteria that would suspend the payment of taxes until the owner sells the property or is deceased.
- The Selectmen hold an initial review of a proposed Intermunicipal Water Supply Agreement with Lexington. Bedford has been receiving MWRA water through mains owned by Lexington since 1993 and that 25-year agreement is coming to an end. This agreement was reached with Lexington in 1993 thereby avoiding disruption of the Minuteman Bikeway in Lexington and the expense of a new water line to Bedford.
- The Selectmen will take action on the “Tree Removal Policy Adoption
for Public Rights of Way and Town Owned Land” that was presented by BARC at a previous meeting. - Selectman William Moonan has requested consideration of a remote meeting policy that allows committee members to participate electronically. A policy adopted by Lincoln will be reviewed.
The Planning Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 12 will include a Public Hearing at 7:30 on the removal of a large oak tree at 23 Page Road.
