Tick Notice, and Survey

A comparison of various ticks

Submitted by the Bedford Board of Health

Data suggests that the incidence of tick-borne illnesses (TBI) is rising, not only in Bedford but in Massachusetts as a whole. The Bedford Board of Health (BOH) currently provides outreach on tick bite prevention and TBI awareness; however, we want to better understand the public’s perception and needs related to ticks and TBI so that other interventions may be considered. Link to the survey is in the story.

The BOH has crafted a brief survey for you to complete. The link for the survey is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SHC5FVY

Data from this survey will be used to drive policies and enhance support for tick prevention initiatives. The BOH appreciates your participation and completion of the survey by Thursday, August 2, 2018.

The mission of the Bedford Board of Health (BOH) is to serve all residents by promoting healthy people, healthy families, and a healthy environment through compassionate care, education, and prevention. In order to succeed at its mission, it is important for the BOH to understand Bedford residents’ perception about a variety of health-related issues, which include ticks, tick bites and associated tick-borne illnesses.
