Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet, based in Bedford, will present a wonderful program of seasonal music entitled “Holiday Voices” at First Parish in Bedford Unitarian Universalist, 75 The Great Road, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 1 December 2017.  This concert is a major step forward as it will involve significant collaboration with the Choir and Soloists of First Parish and their Music Director, Brad Conner, who will conduct some of the works and play piano on others.  We are also delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Point Quartet consisting of local high school students.
We have uncovered a wonderful trove of music for double wind quintet, augmented by other instruments and vocal forces.  From a divertimento composed for dectet by our Music Director, Alan Pearlmutter, to music based on text from Hildegard von Bingen, new settings of ancient French Noëls, a marvelous tidbit from Robert Schumann and a rousing medley of favorite Christmas Carols, this promises to be a musical bonanza, not to be missed.
