C-TEAM

In the anticipated battle of two undefeated teams the Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders C team ran their record to 6-0 with an impressive victory over Wakefield 20-0. The Raiders dominating defense made a statement by blanking the potent Wakefield offense for its third shutout of the season. Fumble recoveries by Ben Quint, Will Potdevin and Joe Greaney propelled a group of relentless tacklers consisting of Shane Meyer, Max Stevens, Sean Sullivan, Aaron Sousa, Joe Tibbles, Mesay Merseth, Will Pataki, Jack Marcin, Sal Frelick, Malachi Mcreed, Aiden Herzog, and Johnny Bachman.

Both teams slugged it out to a scoreless first quarter as the rain soaked field neutralized the speed of the Raiders offensive attack despite some success with slant passes to split-end Toby Hart. In the second quarter, the Raiders turned to their ground and pound game, as Ben Quint led the rushing attack with 90 yards on 8 carries, while Joe Greaney, Will Pataki, Wayne Brasco and Will Potdevin contributed tough inside running that kept the chains moving. Quarterback Sal Frelick benefitted from the Raiders power game as he added 3 touchdown runs of 2, 4 and 5 yards, while Joe Greaney kicked the extra point kick for 2 more points.

The LBH Raiders offensive line took control of the line of scrimmage late in the first quarter as the O-line rotation provided fresh legs that began to wear down the Wakefield front five. The Raiders outperformance in the trenches and clock control was attributed to tough and physical blocking by lineman Jamie Murray, Aaron Sousa, Alexi Panagiotou, Kase Cronin, Matt Pusatere, Shane Meyer, Lucas Honohan, Ryan Lobo, Korben Whitt-Leitner, Ryan McElwee, and Kieran Garrity.

The Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom C team travels to Waltham this Sunday, the 21stfor a key Division 1 match-up with playoff implications.

B-TEAM

The Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders B team lost to Wakefield 27-12 this past Sunday. The Raiders came out throwing as Tony Bianchi found his receivers Spencer Kendall, Henry Potdevin, and tight-end Ryan Reisig in some mismatches, leading the Raiders to an opening drive touchdown pass to Spencer Kendall. With the Raiders B team leading 6-0, the defensive unit caused a fumble and the Raiders were looking to score again with its spread offense. Following some tough inside running by Daniel Greaney the Raiders shot themselves in the foot with penalties that took them out of scoring range and opened the door for Wakefield. Following two quick scores, the Raiders trailed at half time 12-6. The momentum continued for Wakefield in the second half as they increased their lead to 27-6 before the Raiders began moving the ball again in the fourth quarter. Running Back Henry Potdevin, who was threatening to break a big gainer all game, shot around the right end and streaked down the sidelines for a 35 yard touchdown run to make the score 27-12.

The LBH Raiders offense began to move the ball with a mix of inside runs and short passes behind the blocking of tight-ends Paul Murray and Ryan Reisig, as well as offensive lineman Jared Patterson, Alex Puglielli, Cam Heisner, Ben Mitchell, Thomas Briggs, Isaiah Hazelton, Mike Gupta, Tom Foulk, Nathan Harrington, and Miles Feeley.

E-TEAM

Despite the challenge against a strong Wakefield team, the Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders E team claimed another victory with a score of 19-6. It was a tough, hard-hitting game as both teams fumbled on their first possession. The Raiders quarterback, Declan Garrity, recovered one of the fumbles on the Raiders 22-yard line and also on a 3rd and long scored on a 12-yard touchdown run. Playing in unfavorable conditions, the Raiders offensive line grinded out an impressive game.  Ryan Greenberg, Aidan Pompi, Aidan Lynch, Billy Marcin, Yavanni Ensley, Evan Sebastian, Nikhil Belgaonkar, Matthew Ursino, Colin Winn and Finn Sullivan all played well up front holding their blocks.  The Raiders found themselves tied at the half 6-6 for the first time this season.

Immediately following, Jecha Wright ran 75 yards to turn a potential tie game in to a 19-6 victory.

D-TEAM

Last Sunday, on a cold and rainy morning, the Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders E team faced a tough Wakefield opponent, who chipped away at the solid Raiders defense for a 21-0 loss for the Raiders.  Brendon Jones had a great sack early on to get the defense going, but Wakefield pushed downfield for 6 points and the extra point to make the score 7-0 after the first drive.  The Raiders offense struggled against the Wakefield defense and turned the ball over on downs.  The Raiders defense was proving strong, but a penalty set up Wakefield for a first down to end the first.

The Raiders defense remained committed and had Wakefield turn the ball over after three downs, but an interception by Wakefield was converted to another touchdown and the extra point to make the game 12-0 Wakefield.   Charlie Mitchell had a great run with many broken tackles, but the Wakefield defense held and the Raiders could not get down the field.  Rafe Sullivan, Hudson Kortbus, Zack Poor and Zach Greenberg had many great defensive plays and sacks.  Adam Legere also had a great tackle in the third for a loss of yards.  During the third, the Raiders caused a fumble and recovered the ball, followed by a 15 yard run by Charlie Mitchell.  Again, the Wakefield defense shut down the Raiders offense and the Raiders were forced to turn the ball over on downs.  Wakefield broke through congestion and headed for an open run down field for another 6 points, giving them a 21-0 lead and the final score of the game.
