C-Team:

The Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders C team ran its record to 7-0 with a 20-0 win over Waltham and also secured a playoff spot for November.

While the Raiders offense had one of its slower starts of the season, its relentless defense once again shut out its opponent for the fourth time this season. The Raiders defense contributed several big plays on the day including two interceptions by safety Toby Hart and a fumble recovery by defensive end Will Potdevin. The Raiders swarming style defense and tenacious pursuit continued in Waltham thanks to Johnny Bachman, Max Stevens, Sean Sullivan, Aaron Sousa, Joe Greaney, Jack Marcin, Will Pataki, Mesay Merseth, Melachi McCreed, Joe Tibbles, Kieran Garrity, Aiden Herzog, Lucas Honohan and Wayne Brasco prevented Waltham from any serious scoring opportunities in the game.

As the Raiders offense kicked into gear midway through the first quarter it used a combination of tough inside running by Joe Greaney and Ben Quint along with outside runs from Will Pataki. The Raiders finally broke the ice with a 10-yard touchdown run by Will Pataki around right end, who then added another in the second quarter on a 14 yard sweep to the left. Joe Greaney kicked the extra point as the Raiders went up 14-0. The offense continued to click in the third quarter when leading rusher Ben Quint (5 carries for 95 yards) took the ball off left tackle and then cut back to his right racing 80 yards for the score to put the Raiders up 20-0. The second leading rusher Will Potdevin (6 caries for 60 yards) also had several long runs on the day that shredded the Waltham defense. The solid running game the Raiders enjoyed was a result of its strong offensive line play of Jamie Murray, Matt Pusatere, Aaron Sousa, Alexi Panagiotou, Korben Whitt-Leitner, Ryan Lobo and Ryan McElwee.

The Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders C team will play its final regular season game against Arlington, this Sunday October 28th at11:00am as they look to extend their unbeaten season.

B-Team:

The Lexington/Bedford/Hanscom Raiders B team played a hard fought game against Waltham and posed a challenge throughout the contest despite losing 25-7.

The Raiders offense continues to improve and has now found the end zone three weeks in a row thanks to a 25-yard touchdown pass from Tony Bianchi to a leaping Spencer Kendall; the Raiders extra point conversion was tacked on by quarterback Tony Bianchi who sprinted 2 yards around right end.

The Raiders offensive line continues to make strides in protecting their quarterback and creating holes for their backs. Offensive lineman Thomas Briggs, Isaiah Hazelton, Jared Patterson, Ben Mitchell, Alex Puglielli and Jack Heretz along with tight ends Paul Murray and Ryan Reisig battled the Waltham defense, and at times, opened up some nice holes for running backs Dan Greaney and Sam Baker.

While the Raiders defense continues to be plagued by the big offensive play, there were several displays of tenacity from the Raiders defense as it created several turnovers and stuffed Waltham on a few key fourth downs.

The Raiders B team plays Arlington this Sunday October 28th at12:30pm as it looks to close out the season with a win.
