Caroline Fedele has announced her candidacy for Selectman in the upcoming Town Election on March 9, 2013

A resident of Gray Terrace, Fedele currently serves as a Recreation Commissioner and as Vice President of BEST/PTO. While she has thoroughly enjoyed both of these volunteer positions, Fedele would now like to apply her business knowledge and love of Bedford in the role of Selectman.

“We are so lucky to live in a community filled with skilled town employees, an excellent school system and an enormous number of volunteers at every level,” she said. “I am one of those volunteers and want to give my time and effort to help Bedford stay fiscally sound and to keep Bedford the small town that I love.”

A Bedford native, Fedele is the youngest daughter of Bobbie and Lou Ennis.  After graduating from Bedford High School in 1988, she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Ithaca College.  She is married to Rich Fedele, another Bedford native, and they are raising their family here.  “After our work day, we coach sports and volunteer whenever possible” she said.

Fedele believes in leading youth by example, respecting elders, and being close to neighbors and community.  In her professional career, she listens daily the issues, asks thoughtful questions, and works to develop effective solutions that provide the desired outcomes within budget. Fedele believes these are necessary skills for the next Selectman.

In thanking Cathy Cordes for her service to Bedford as Selectman, Finance Committee member, and on the Capital Expenditures Committee, Fedele said “Mrs. Cordes has provided Bedford with outstanding leadership. She is thoughtful and thorough, knowledgeable and talented, and loves Bedford.  I am grateful for her dedication.”

And Fedele credits watching Cordes with inspiring her to run for Selectman. “I am pleased that I have had the opportunity to watch Cathy’s work first-hand.  After attending Selectmen’s meetings, I became interested and excited to serve.”
