Hear ye, hear ye! The third annual Bedford Free Public Library Peeps Marshmallow Diorama Contest has officially begun!

Head Reference Librarian Theresa Maturevich, organizer of the competition, stated that entries are being accepted now through March 13 for submissions in four categories: Ages up to 5 years old, 6 years to 12 years old, family/mixed ages, and adult (12 and older). A fifth, wild card category—the Peeple’s Choice Award—will be chosen by library patrons.

This year, as in prior years, the rules of the competition state that Peeps must be central to the finished creation, although there is no specific theme. Dioramas can be larger than a shoebox but must not be larger than 3 feet by 3 feet; only one entry is allowed per individual or group.

Maturevich also invites the public to vote for the Peeple’s Choice winner from March 14 to March 19. Winners in all categories will be announced at an awards ceremony Wednesday, March 20 at 2PM.  Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they have submitted an entry or not.

Entry forms must accompany every submission. To obtain a form, visit the Bedford library or the library’s webpage: https://www.bedfordlibrary.net/events/peeps.htm

It should be noted that, to avoid being discarded (or eaten), entries must be picked up by 9  PM on Wednesday, March 27.
