Springs Brook Park Opens June 13!

Springs Brook Park will open for its 2013 season on Thursday, June 13, with an opening celebration on Saturday, June 15.

SPRINGS BROOK PARK is a man-made, filtered, swimming facility surrounded by sandy beaches. The park is set back in a beautiful wooded setting and is located at 181 Springs Road.  There are many amenities at the park to enjoy such as swimming, a waterslide, docks, spray-park, playground, basketball, volleyball, picnic area with grills and a full facility bathhouse with concession stand.  SBP is staffed by lifeguards/swim instructors who are certified in water safety, lifeguard training, first aid and professional rescuer CPR..  Admission is either by daily admission or summer membership.  Red Cross swim lessons are available through out the summer. Discounted lesson fees with Full Summer Membership purchase.   Register online or at the park once it opens for the season.  Purchase your summer membership before June 17 and receive One Day Use passes for guests!

SEASON OPENING CELEBRATION DAY :  Saturday June 15 (rain date Sun., June 16)

A special invitation for everyone to visit and enjoy the park and facilities.  There will be special games, activities, and entertainment. Bedford residents free of charge. (must show ID). Memberships sold both Sat. and Sun. until 4:30 pm.  Sign up for swim lessons also.

Magician Matt Roberts will perform on Saturday, June 15 at 2:00.

Incredibly engaging magic and hilarious comedy with illusions that are top notch and amazing!

Summer Adult Classes

Bedford Recreation has a variety of both Fitness programs and Personal Interest classes for adults this summer. Many classes are also open to High School age students.

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR BOOT CAMP with Sandy Morvillo:Tuesdays or Thursdays, 6:30 – 7:30pm, or Saturdays, 7:30 – 8:30am. starts week of May 28.

AQUA ZUMBA with Sarah Emilian: Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30pm or Wednesdays, 9:30-10:30am, starts week of June 19.

STRETCH AND TONE with Beverly Giarrusso: Tuesdays or Thursdays,  12:00-1:00pm, starts week of June 27.

HATHA YOGA with Bonnie McCulloch: Wednesdays, 7:00-8:00pm, starts week of July 10

LOW IMPACT AEROBICS AND BODY SCULPTING with Beverly Giarrusso: Tuesday or Thursday, 11:00-12:00noon,  starts week of June 25

ZUMBA® DANCE-FITNESS with Sharon Pugatch: Wednesday, 5:45 – 6:45pm, starts week of July 10.

NIA CLASS with Joan Turnberg: Wed.nesdays, 9:30-10:30am. or Thursdays, 6:30-7:30pm, starts week of July 10.

BODYJAM ~ BODYPUMP ~ BODYFLOW with instructors from Kamate Fitness: Ten different classes and times offered per week, see our website for details.

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE TAI CHI with Bob Cormier, Oriental Healing Arts: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm. Starts week of June 19.  Free trial class on June 19.

BELLY DANCING with Beverly Giarrusso: Wednesdays,  11:00-12:00noon,  starts week of June 26.

BALLET FOR BEGINNERS with Beverly Giarrusso Wednesdays,  12:00-1:00pm, starts week of June 26.

TENNIS:  Cardio, Drill and Play with KA Tennis: Thursdays, 7:00-8:30pm, starts week of July 11.

ADULT TENNIS LESSONS with Barbara Aldorisio: Beginner:  5:30—6:30pm. Or Advanced:  6:30-7:30pm. Starts week of July 23.

BARRIE BRUCE GOLF SCHOOL:  Classes held at Country Club of Billerica BEGINNER OR INTERMEDIATE GOLF LESSONS, Numerous selection of 5 week classes starting in June and July.  See website for details.

LAP SWIMMING at Springs Brook Park: Springs Brook Park has 3 lap lanes designated for lap swimming only.  Available anytime the park is open with membership or daily admission.  See the Springs Brook information in this brochure for more information about the Park.  Swimmers must clear the water 15 min prior to closing time.  No fee to swim after 5:30pm.

HOME IMPROVEMENT SERIES with Art Smith: Covers information on hiring or doing it yourself, design, documentation, permitting and construction. Tuesdays, July 9 – 23, 7:30 – 9:00pm
