Wednesday, October 9, is Walk or Bike to School Day in Bedford

Tomorrow Bedford will celebrate International Walk and Bike to School day along with  thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, and over 40 countries! Lane School will have adult chaperoned activities at the following locations:

Walkers

8:00AM meet at St. Paul’s parking lot for an approximate 1 mile to school only (30 minute walk)

Bikers

Helmets required. Some assistance with tire checks and seat adjustments will be provided at the event, but please check out bike before the event.

Morning Ride:

  • 8:00 AM:  meet at Marshalls’ rear parking lot for 1.8 mile ride on rail trail to school, approximately 20 min ride uphill.

Afternoon Return Ride:

  • 1:30 PM:  leave Job Lane for approximately 15 minute ride downhill
  • 1:45 PM:   parent pickup at Marshalls

Students may ride one way only as long the bike chaperons are notified. Parents are highly encouraged to join either ride!

Poor weather forecast will cancel/reschedule chaperoned bike ride – notice sent on Monday Oct. 7 or check Facebook page “Bedford In Motion.”
