Massachusetts House Minority Leader Bradley Jones (R-North Reading) and Representative Ken Gordon (D-Bedford) have agreed to a friendly wager on the MIAA Division 4 North semifinal football game between Lynnfield (8-0) and Bedford (6-1) at the Lynnfield Middle School this Saturday at 11 a.m. The representative of the unsuccessful team will donate two bags of nonperishable food items to a food pantry in the victor’s town.

“I commend Representative Gordon for entering into this wager,” said House Minority Leader Brad Jones. “While I am sure that Bedford High School has a good football team, it is clear to me that the Lynnfield Pioneers will be victorious in the end, and I know the Lynnfield food pantry will be able to put the donation to good use, particularly during the upcoming holiday season.”

Added Gordon:  “I am happy with arrangement no matter how it turns out, and in the unlikely event that Bedford does not emerge victorious I will be happy to increase the inventory at Lynnfield’s food pantry.
