Santa is never slowed down by a little snow or ice, so he turned up in fine fettle to greet local families during the Rotary Club of Bedford’s annual Breakfast with Santa on December 15.

Dozens of volunteers decorated the Bedford High School cafeteria; prepared the hearty breakfasts — pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages or cereal; created a zoo-full of balloon animals; painted faces; and warmly greeted the families who arrived — some on foot — to say hello to Santa.

Everyone who spoke with Santa received a photo, courtesy of sponsor Middlesex Savings Bank, and all the guests were invited to the Goddard School’s craft table.

In addition to the fun, two of the Rotary Club’s service projects were on display:

  • Bedford’s 2013 Citizen of the Year Ralph Hammond registered individuals and children who might want to become Trail Stewards as the Circuit Trail project moves forward; and
  • Proceeds from the giant panda raffle tickets will benefit the Rotary’s Pay it Forward meal-packing program planned for spring 2014.

Thanks to the Bedford Citizen for covering this event, and thanks to all of our sponsors! Without their help we could not do Rotary’s good work in Bedford and throughout the world. Those who are interested in our Pay it Forward Meals for Haiti event are invited to attend an informational session on January 7th.
